Project Defaults

The project defaults section controls the specific detail on a “per project” basis. Items such as Component, Visibility, Type can all be set from here.

Each line displayed can be expanded to show the settings. The Default Project Settings will be used unless you have overridden them on a specific project. Each project in your Gemini will be listed here. The circle with a tick in it image signifies that the project has been customised. In the above example, “Company Intranet” project will have its own specific settings, whereas the other two projects with the image icon will use the defaults specified in “Default Project Settings” (first line).

Clicking on Default Project Settings will open the panel and show you a summary of the current settings.

Component Settings

image

Component Smart Match: Similarly to the project smart match, the component smart match will search for all references to components in the email content, score each occurrence, and select the component with the highest score. This setting enables or disables this feature.

Use Default Component: This setting enables and disables the usage of a specified default component to be used for the project. Note, it is not possible to set this globally since components are unique to a project. If this setting is enabled, a drop down list of possible components is displayed. Select from this list the component to be the default.

Use First Component: If enabled, the matching process will pick whatever the first component is in the list of components. This setting will ensure the issue is submitted to Gemini, but is likely to need to be reviewed once it is there.

Type Settings

image

Use Subject For Issue Type: This setting enables the processor to look in the email subject line for references to the issue type, eg “Bug in testing” would link to the Bug issue type.

Use Default Issue Type: This enables and disables the use of the default issue type being used in the matching process.

Default Type: If enabled, the selected type will be used as a default to the issue submission.

Severity Settings

Default Severity: The severity level selected here will be used as the default severity for new issues.

Visibility Settings

image

The visibility of the newly created Issue/Comment can be set automatically based on which email address field the email processor address was found. TO/CC will be set one visibility, and BCC another.

For both TO/CC and BCC, select global or project (group) as required. Then select the group required from the drop down list: this will give you the full list of groups available.

Truncation Settings

image

Truncation is a clean up mechanism to avoid Gemini issues getting clogged up with long email threads.

Enable Truncation: This enables and disables the extended truncation options shown in this section. The Reply line truncation will still happen even if this is disabled.

Truncation Unit: It is possible to truncate the email after a given number of Lines or Characters. This setting will determine which is used.

Truncation Length: This will set the number of lines or characters that will be included in the Gemini issue/comment. However, if the email length is marginally longer than the truncation length, it will ignore the truncation and use the full content.

Attach Email to Item: If the email has been truncated by lines or characters, this setting controls whether the entire contents of the email is attached to the issue or comment.

General Settings

image

Closed Issue Handling: If a reply is received that is for a closed issue, MailboxPro can handle the situation in a number of ways:

  1. Ignore: This option will see the comment added to the closed issue. The issue will remain closed.
  2. Reopen:The issue will be reopened and a new comment added.
  3. New Item:The original (closed) item will be untouched, but a new item will be created and the email added to this new issue.
  4. New Item + Link: Same as number 3 above, but the two issues will also be linked together.

Linked Issue Type: This setting controls how the issues are linked, should the "New Item + Link” option be selected. The list here will show the Link Types you have configured in Gemini. Select the Link Type you wish to use.
